Dear Ladies,

First let’s begin with the basic fabrics. There are, chiffongeorgettesatinjerseyviscose, and cotton. Chiffon and jersey are the most common and most worn type of hijab fabric. Quick tip, wear light weight underscarves for hot weather and thick underscarves for cold weather.

Chiffon is a classic hijab fabric. It is slightly slippery but not too much. With the right pins and underscarf, chiffon will be a breeze. Chiffon is a great light weight fabric, perfect for hot and cold weather. They come in many colors and prints. Haute Hijab and Pearl Daisy have many beautiful chiffon Hijabs.

Georgette is similar to chiffon but it is more textured fabric. It is less likely to slip compared to chiffon. Very easy to style and like chiffon it looks very put together and affluent.

Satin Hijabs, as you can imagine is very slippery. You might want to use magnetic hijab pins. Available at Haute Hijab and Pearl Daisy. It will look the best at events such as red carpets or charity gala’s. Either way it’s a very formal style of fabric.

Jersey is the best lazy day fabric. It is non slip and and an under scarf is not needed. They come in many colors and prints. It’s most suitable for any hot and cold weather, and casual days.

Viscose has a close relationship with jersey but they are not the same. It has a little less non slip coverage but it looks more put together. It does not give off that casual feeling jersey does. Suitable for both hot and cold weather.

Cotton is a basic, it works well on many occasions. It has perfect non slip coverage, not to slippery not too non slip. It does give off a slight casual aura once you wear it. But it truly does depend on how you style it. That’s a wrap for today’s post.
